Minor Update — Baba Nerfs, Deadman Danny Buffs
One day after Deadman Danny's release, Valve tuned both ends of the new-hero power curve:
- Baba nerfed across the board after a dominant first week: base bullet resistance down 7%, Spirit Resistance scaling cut (0.12 to 0.1), Threadsap cooldown up (26s to 28s) with its spirit drain now ending when Baba dies, Granny Long Legs cooldown up (30s to 32s) with weaker airborne melee momentum and launch, and Baba's Brew barrier cut (100 to 90, scaling 1.2 to 0.7, cooldown 25s to 27s moved to T2).
- Deadman Danny buffed everywhere to land him at the roster's power level: base health 680 to 730, regen 2.5 to 3.25, uncharged shots 12 to 15 and charged shots 44 to 48, Strix Salvo cooldown 30s to 25s with better spirit scaling and stronger T2/T3, Chimera Mk1 healing and weapon scaling up, Close the Deal paying out more (1AP +50 to +90, sub-half-health bonus +50% to +75%), and rocket-jump self-damage reduced (6.5% to 5% max HP, now spirit damage).
Meta impact: Baba's oppressive early sustain and chase are reined in — expect her lane priority to drop. Danny becomes a real diver threat: cheaper rocket jumps and a faster Strix Salvo mean far more frequent engage windows.

City Never Sleeps
The biggest update yet. Highlights:
- 6 new heroes: Nurse Harrow, Rat King, Solomon, Deadman Danny, Baba, and Violet — released one at a time via community vote, Tuesdays and Fridays at 2pm PT starting October 2. Release order so far: Rat King (Oct 2), Baba (Oct 6), Solomon (Oct 9), Deadman Danny (Oct 13). Nurse Harrow and Violet are still to come — next drop Friday, October 16.
- Map rebuilt. Large parts of the Cursed Apple redesigned with more detailed buildings, more entrances/exits, and more vertical multilevel spaces. New doorways and rooftops open faster rotation paths.
- Lane reworks and more varied neutral camps that fit their city districts.
- The Broker — a limited-time merchant trading high-tier items for Corrupted versions.
- Pushed the game to a new all-time peak of 228,086 concurrent players on Steam — while still invite-only. The record didn't last: on October 9 the game hit 262,145, beating Team Fortress 2's all-time Steam peak (253,997).

Map: 4 Lanes → 3 Lanes
The map was reworked from four lanes down to three (York, Greenwich, Broadway), focusing the action and reducing isolated farming time. More interconnected, more vertical.
Note: this page covers major updates only and is updated periodically. For full patch notes, check the official Deadlock channels. If something here looks outdated, the game probably patched — that's the nature of a live beta.
